Female Friends
For female friends, sentimental items are excellent choices, but there are many other options. Examples include clothing accessories, hobby-related presents, practical items, food, and more. Any friend loves items that reflect care and concern. For female friends, these items might be appreciated and enjoyed:
Accessories: If she is fond of accessories, for example, a cashmere scarf and matching gloves will delight her–and keep her cozy.
Hobbies: If she loves cooking, a slow cooker or bakeware set would make her favorite past-time even more enjoyable.
Knick-knacks: Does she love a certain movie star, political figure, or singer? Get her a mousepad, biography, or movie about that individual.
Jewelry: Not all jewelry has to be romantic! If your friend likes jewelry, a bracelet with her birthstone might be a perfect choice.
Music: If she listens to a certain type of music, try to buy her a CD or two of that style that she doesn’t yet own.
DVD Set: Get a DVD collection of her favorite television series–particularly one she has to miss due to her work hours or other obligations.
Decorative items: Refrigerator magnets with an inspirational message or picture of something she likes (dogs, hummingbirds, a certain place) might be nice.
Cosmetics: Avoid personal cosmetics like eyeshadow or lipstick which usually is best chosen by the wearer–but luxury items like a premium lotion, pedicure set, or hair conditioner might be fun.
Self-care: Aromatherapy, self-help book on topics like yoga, or a paid massage would be hard to NOT like.
Food or beverage: Gourmet tea, gourmet namebrand coffee, and gift baskets go a long way–plus almost everyone loves getting gift baskets because they include several items that can be used even if the recipient already has some of the items.
Practical items everyone needs: There is always the keychain, change holder, address book, and popular book that a friend would enjoy.
Whatever you get your friend, try to stay within a price range he or she would feel comfortable spending on you. If you give a gift, you may get one in return–you want your friend to enjoy your mutual gifts, not stress out over returning one of equal value!
