Grandparent Gift
Gifts for grandmother and grandfather can be difficult to buy simply because Grandma usually already has everything she wants! Or your grandparents may be choosey, very practical, or refuse to tell you what they would like as gifts. However, there is always something that can make them smile, as well as items they will love but never bought for themselves. Here are a few ideas that might help you find the perfect present for your grandma or grandpa:
Are there items your grandmother has stored but might like to display? For example, there’s rarely a grandmother who doesn’t have a box full of unframed photographs. Get her a box of matching frames that will look great in her room—even better, help her label the pictures and stick them in the frames.
What activities do they do on a daily basis? Does your grandfather like to listen to the radio? Play golf? Maybe he would like a brand new golf set or a subscription to a sports magazine. If he likes to listen to radio, he would probably enjoy a waterproof shower radio so he can start his day early!
Do your grandparents beam when they talk about their children and grandchildren? If so, you might consider assembling a holiday calendar or photobook online that displays pictures of loved ones. They can display these photo collections and brag about them for months.
Are there hobbies your grandparents enjoy? For example, if Grandma loves to tend flowers, you might consider getting her a seed garden or gardening set. If Grandpa likes fishing, he might love a new tackle box or a book about local fish.
Sometimes it seems that grandparents have everything they want…if this is the case, give gifts that show you care—a cuddly (or stately) new bathrobe, comfortable and stylish slippers, or a brand new shiny wallet. Another item that is nearly always a success are framed family photos—they’ll show these treasure off for years to come!
